FREE band charts for Beginner Guide To Soloing Series
If you have one of my Beginner Jazz Soloing books from Amazon or Kindle you will find four original compositions included in the book, with play-along backing tracks. I have created band parts for these compositions, which means you can get together with other musicians and play the tunes, with or without the backing tracks. Fully notated rhythm section parts are also included.
These charts are particularly useful for school/college band directors and a full score is available. Currently, the parts are all just transpositions of one unison line, but I am working on turning them into full band arrangements, including harmony parts transposed for every instrument. This will make the arrangements interchangeable and allow for a choice of orchestration, making them suitable for virtually any line up of instruments.
Anyone who owns a copy of the book will be able to work at home with the backing tracks and follow the method to practice improvising over the tunes. Rehearsal time can then be spent on rehearsing the group and creating the arrangement, instead of teaching improvisation skills.
